SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 7 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The judicial body overseeing the on-call court in San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Tenerife) — the Court of Instruction No. 1 — has decreed provisional detention without bail for the 61-year-old individual arrested on suspicion of murdering his 67-year-old sibling, who was battling cancer, and seriously injuring his 49-year-old sister at a residence in the area.
This information was disclosed on Saturday by the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC), which confirmed that the man is provisionally charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted homicide.
The National Police, for their part, apprehended the suspect on Friday concerning events that allegedly transpired following a domestic dispute at a property in the Camino La Mina neighbourhood.
In connection with the incident, the 67-year-old brother succumbed during the attack, whereas the 49-year-old sister required transfer to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC), where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Reports suggest that the detainee resided at the property with his deceased sibling, who was experiencing the effects of cancer.
