SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 4 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
‘TLP Tenerife’ launched the ‘Summer-Con’ area on Wednesday, catering to enthusiasts of the Asian culture, including manga, anime, cosplay, and video games.
The opening was graced by the attendance of the president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, the Minister of Innovation, Research and Development, Juan José Martínez, and Idaira Febles, the director of ‘TLP Tenerife’.
Starting from 11:00 a.m., thousands of cosplay, manga, and video game aficionados gathered outside the Tenerife Fairgrounds to partake in the various activities offered in the Summer-Con area.
Tickets are available for purchase through TomaTicket or directly at the event’s box office, and the Summer Zone will be open until Sunday, featuring an extensive range of activities for all ages—marking the most extensive offering in the history of ‘TLP Tenerife’.
Attendees can expect to find a variety of attractions, including educational workshops centred on new technologies, the participation of leading board game publishers from across the country, crafts, an area dedicated to consoles and video games, as well as competitions in a range of disciplines.
The ground floor of the Fairgrounds will host ‘Artist Alley’, a section where independent creators showcase and sell their artwork.
Additionally, various stands from local Canarian shops will be selling merchandise related to manga, anime, and K-Pop, among other items.
On a different note, the TLP K-Pop Championship is a contest designed to highlight the top groups and solo performers from the archipelago in this dance genre.
The main stage will also feature a Cosplay section, welcoming anyone bold enough to don costumes from movies, anime, or video games.
Esports will boast over 30 competitions across four different tournament types, spanning popular titles such as League of Legends, Tekken 8, Just Dance, and Fortnite.
In particular, numerous awards will be distributed to professional competitors, amateur players, communities looking to gain recognition in the competitive realm, and general gaming enthusiasts.
Regarding commercial prospects, ‘TLP Tenerife 2024’ serves as a prime exhibition for local retailers within the new trends sector while also providing a platform for artistic expression in all its forms.
The organisers have arranged for more than 60 artists to have a stand to display and sell their creations to attendees at this ‘Summer-Con’.
