Güimarera Pride: Rosa Dávila Reflects on Her Childhood in El Socorro

“Güímar is where I played and enjoyed time with my brother and cousins in the streets of San Pedro. That is why I identify as being from Güímar (…) This sentiment has enabled me to reconnect with the flavours, aromas, and locations of my childhood,” reflected Rosa Dávila yesterday at the commencement of her address during the El Socorro celebrations. This moment was a reunion with her past for this daughter of Toto, as her father, Héctor Dávila, is affectionately known, with whom she shared “lengthy discussions” to prepare for the speech.
