The Paulino Suances Romín Urban Park in Las Galletas was the setting for a captivating and historic evening featuring a concert by Los Sabandeños and Los Gofiones, who shared the stage in Arona for the very first time.
Over a thousand attendees enjoyed a performance that surpassed expectations, with both of the foremost groups in Canarian folklore presenting the most significant songs from their repertoires, always engaging the audience.
The concert, organised by the Culture Board in partnership with the Department of Festivals, was a remarkable triumph, captivating the audience who undoubtedly relished an unforgettable evening showcasing our finest folklore.
Javier Baute, the Councillor for Culture at Arona Town Council, expressed immense satisfaction and gratitude for the audience’s reception. He emphasised “the privilege of having experienced that exchange, which was much greater than mere words, consisting of genuine wonders from the two most representative members and founders of the groups, Don Elfidio and Don Sergio. That unique moment when more than 60 members from both groups shared the stage and enchanted us with a display of such camaraderie among Canarians from various islands rekindled in the audience that important sense of Canarianness that we must preserve.”
