Iconic Continental Watchmaker Closes Doors After 60 Years on Castillo Street

Situated on Calle Castillo, the principal retail thoroughfare in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, numerous shops can be found. Although franchises are increasingly common, several local establishments with a long-standing history continue to operate. However, as of today, there is one less: the Continental watchmaker, located at number 63. After 60 years of operation and being among the first shops to open in the upper section of Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s shopping district in 1964, it is shutting its doors permanently due to the owner’s retirement, Hiro Chulani.
