Yesterday, via the Public Sector Contracting Platform, the Candelaria Town Council revealed the specifications for the tender regarding the construction of a new social-health facility for dependent individuals, situated in the Barranco Hondo region. This long-anticipated initiative by the residents of the municipality signifies a substantial investment, totalling 5,406,710.17 euros. The funding for this venture will be sourced from the Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Tenerife Institute for Social and Social-Health Care (IASS).
CUTTING-EDGE FACILITIES
The newly designed centre will boast cutting-edge facilities that will facilitate the provision of comprehensive and tailored care services. This initiative is anticipated to play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for the elderly and dependent individuals within the municipality, offering a safe and suitable environment to meet their needs.
Businesses looking to engage in this tendering process will have the chance to submit their bids until 24 September, with the deadline extending until 11:59 p.m. on that date. Consequently, the call will remain open for most of the month, and a considerable number of companies keen on undertaking this socially significant project are expected to take part.
The Mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, conveyed her immense pleasure with the progress indicated by the announcement of this tender, describing it as “a vital step towards the realisation of a project in which the City Council has dedicated significant effort over the years”.
Brito emphasised that this new centre aims not only to markedly enhance the quality of life for the elderly and dependent individuals in the municipality, but will also positively influence the local economy, as its construction and operation will create new employment opportunities and help stimulate the area’s economy.
He further highlighted the necessity of adequate infrastructure to effectively address the needs of the most vulnerable segments of the population. In his words: “Candelaria is a town that looks resolutely towards the future, enhancing its services day by day.”
