SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29th August (EUROPA PRESS) –
A fourth cayuco reached El Hierro on Thursday afternoon, carrying 159 migrants, as reported by sources from Salvamento Marítimo to Europa Press, thus increasing the total number of vessels with 494 individuals to four.
The cayuco was detected by radar approximately nine miles to the south of the island and was guided to the dock by the Civil Guard’s patrol boat ‘Río Guadiato,’ which conducts surveillance activities between the southern region of Tenerife and El Hierro.
Earlier in the afternoon, a canoe with 205 migrants arrived, while two additional canoes arrived during the early hours, carrying a total of 130 individuals.
