The village of San Agustín in Realejos is commemorating its 50th anniversary today. This locality is once again adorned for the celebrations with an array of activities taking place in the Plaza de San Agustín, the Carmen sanctuary, and its adjacent areas, including the customary shower of sweets and balloons from the tower.
At 4:00 pm, there will be face painting and balloon twisting workshops, alongside a new edition of the bicycle ring, and at 7:00 pm, the religious service is scheduled, during which the saint’s tenths will be distributed. Once concluded, the shower of sweets will commence.
Following this event, the procession featuring San Agustín will traverse the streets of San Agustín, El Mar, Ecce Homo, La Marina, and El Carmen, returning to the sanctuary accompanied by the venerable brotherhood and confraternity of Nuestra Señora del Carmen and the Band of Bugles and Drums of San Juan Bautista from El Farrobo de La Orotava.
