Francisco González de Aledo Buergo, a solicitor from La Laguna with over 40 years of expertise in the area, has been named the herald for the Fiestas del Santísimo Cristo de La Laguna 2024, as announced by the local council yesterday.
The proclamation reading is set for 5 September at 8:30 p.m., taking place in the atrium of the Royal Sanctuary of Christ. The event will include a performance by timple musician Víctor Estárico and contributions from artist Chago Melián, signalling the start of a comprehensive programme of activities.
The Mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, emphasised the remarkable professional journey of the town crier for these festivities, who was born in the municipality in 1957, along with his deep ties to Holy Week in La Laguna, during which he also served as the town crier in 2015.
In a similar vein, the local councillor noted that Francisco González de Aledo Buergo hails from a significant family involved with the Hermandad de la Sangre y la Santa Cruz, of which he was the Senior Brother in 1987. He also mentioned that in 2008, he became the senior slave of the Esclavitud del Cristo de La Laguna.
