SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 27 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Tenerife Firefighters Consortium has appointed Joaquín Delgado Feliciano as its new managing director.
Iván Martín, the current president of the institution and island director of Security and Emergencies, emphasises Feliciano’s background and asserts that “his expertise will guarantee the continuity of the service founded on quality, resource optimisation, and professionalism.”
Joaquín Delgado, born on 6 October 1965, possesses a degree in Economics from the University of La Laguna.
He also holds a Master’s degree in General Business Management (MBA) from the Esden International School in Madrid and an Executive MBA from the Bravo Murillo International Institute, evidencing his commitment to leadership, management capabilities, and strategic insight, according to a statement from the Tenerife Island Council.
His career showcases significant experience, having spent 11 years as manager of the Forthor Canarias SA Group.
In 2008, he commenced his affiliation with the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium, where he held the position of manager for four years, additionally representing the organisation in the Association of Consortiums of Spain (CONBE), as well as representing the La Laguna City Council in the Fire Safety Commission of the Group of World Heritage Cities of Spain.
During this time, he was tasked with spearheading the European-funded MAC projects in collaboration with Madeira and the Azores; Cape Verde and Senegal; and Interreg IVC involving Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, the United Kingdom, and Norway.
In 2014, he took on new roles as manager of BPLSL and, a year later, that of Comercial Automóviles Nacionales, serving in that position until 2023.
For the new manager, returning to Bomberos Tenerife signifies a fresh opportunity that he approaches with enthusiasm, energy, and the belief that “the team of professionals within the Consortium will meet all required demands, consistently prioritising citizen welfare, prevention, communication, and achieving objectives, which is vital for enhancing the value of the service and continuing our social outreach.”
