SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23rd August (EUROPA PRESS) –
Officers from the Civil Guard at the Güímar Police Station have assisted an 87-year-old woman who had collapsed within her home and was unable to move.
The event took place when a patrolling officer received a call from a neighbour who reported hearing someone shouting, groaning, and requesting assistance, and suspected it could be an elderly nearby resident.
Upon arrival, the officers examined the house from the outside and heard a voice calling for help within. They identified a neighbour who possessed a duplicate key to the residence, enabling her to unlock the door for the officers.
Once they entered, they discovered the woman lying on the bathroom floor, unable to get up and asking for aid.
Furthermore, to reach the victim, they had to remove the bathroom door as it was obstructed by fallen debris, rendering her incapable of getting to her feet unaided.
The woman was attended to on-site by the medical services that had been dispatched, and it was deemed unnecessary to transfer her to a medical facility.
