The Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) is providing a total of 460 places for Specialised Health Training (FSE) for the 2024-2025 call.
Therefore, this Friday, the Official State Gazette publishes the announcement for selective examinations to access FSE positions, which encompasses all these roles.
In the area of Primary Care, the maximum allotment of accredited places within the Canary Islands is fulfilled with 120 positions, of which ninety are in Family and Community Medicine and thirty in Family and Community Nursing.
Regarding other specialisations, the provision of places in the Mental Health field stands out, as a strategic initiative from the Ministry of Health in this area, with a total of 41 positions. This includes twelve in Psychiatry, ten in Clinical Psychology, and seventeen in Nursing specialised in Mental Health.
Furthermore, the overall offering includes, for the first time, two places for specialised health training in child and adolescent psychiatry, according to a statement from the Ministry.
Among the other specialisations, the most prominent are Paediatrics with twenty places, Anaesthesia with sixteen, Radiology with twelve, Internal Medicine with twelve, and Intensive Care with eleven, alongside 27 positions for the specialty of Obstetric-Gynaecological Nursing.
With this offering, the SCS achieves the highest number of FSE places ever provided by the health system in the Canary Islands, reflecting an increase of 136 positions compared to the 2018 offer for specialist training in the health institutions of the islands, indicating an increase of almost 45 percent over the last six years.
In comparison to 2023, the rise is 24 positions, which equates to a 5.5 percent increase, placing the Canary Islands above the national average of 3 percent.
Of these, 23 are linked to new teaching accreditations, for which the SCS has endeavoured to certify new positions and units.
