SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 22 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Canary Islands witnessed the arrival of over 400 migrants aboard four cayucos on Thursday, with three landing on the island of El Hierro and one on Gran Canaria, according to information provided to Europa Press by Maritime Rescue officials.
Three vessels have reached El Hierro carrying a total of 338 individuals, all originating from sub-Saharan Africa, which includes 23 women and 12 presumed minors. Some individuals have been transferred to the local hospital for further care.
Regarding the vessel that arrived in Gran Canaria, at the dock in Arguineguín, there were 69 men, also of sub-Saharan origin, who were found to be in good health.
