The entrepreneur Ram Bhavnani has invested in BBVA during a public takeover bid for the Sabadell bank. The investor, originally from India but residing in the Canary Islands since the 1960s, has engaged in the equity of the institution via two investment firms, which have purchased shares for nearly 2.5 million euros. Bhavnani himself confirmed yesterday the transaction executed by the administrators of the Bombay SICAV – of which he is a co-owner alongside other participants – through which he procured 1.96 million euros in shares, and that of Kalyani, who acquired shares amounting to 468,000 euros.
