Mobile Repair Technicians Under Investigation for €5,000 Theft in Tenerife

The Civil Guard has initiated proceedings to investigate two individuals, aged 35 and 24, who reside in the towns of Arona and Adeje (Tenerife), respectively, on suspicion of committing a technological fraud by unlawfully obtaining 5,000 euros from a customer of the mobile phone repair business where they were employed.

According to a statement, the Civil Guard clarified that the method employed by the suspects to perpetrate the fraud involved their online banking, which both individuals were able to access unlawfully, taking advantage of the fact that the victim had left his mobile phone unlocked.

Consequently, they succeeded in transferring funds from the victim’s account to a bank account held by one of the suspects.

Upon realising that 5,000 euros had been withdrawn from her account, the victim reported the incident to the Civil Guard.

As a result, the agents from the ‘Team @’, who are specialised in such criminal activities, commenced an investigation that enabled them to collect the crucial evidence required to substantiate the crime, successfully identifying, locating, and examining the alleged offenders.

Ultimately, the case has been submitted to the Arona Court of First Instance.
