TLP Tenerife 2024 has commenced the sale of tickets for the Summer-Con Zone, the technology and video game fair scheduled from 4th to 8th September. This edition of the Summer-Con will showcase e-sports tournaments, talent competitions, training workshops, and discussions with prominent figures from the technology and gaming sectors. Tickets can be acquired via TakeTicket.

TLP Tenerife features two distinct areas. Firstly, there is the classic Lan Zone, where participants can bring their own computer equipment to enjoy a high-speed internet connection. Secondly, the Summer-Con Zone will be accessible to the general public, offering various activities such as crafts, educational workshops, K-Pop dance competitions, Cosplay, and video gaming.

The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, emphasises that “we are thrilled to bring back TLP Tenerife, which is not just a technology and leisure event, but also a platform for training and employment that will attract thousands to the Fairgrounds at the beginning of September. It is undoubtedly fantastic news for a sector that has been flourishing and which we intend to support in the coming years.”

SUMMER-CON ZONE

Commencing on Wednesday 4th September, the TLP Tenerife Summer-Con Zone will attract numerous video game and geek culture enthusiasts. It is anticipated that over 50,000 attendees will visit the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Fairgrounds during the five-day event.

The occasion will feature several voice actors, including Salvador Vidal, known for voicing Indiana Jones and Luke Skywalker; and Claudio Serrano, the Spanish voice of Batman. Joining them will be content creators like Misho, a participant in YouTube series such as ’21 days’; and Suzyroxx, who currently collaborates with Rebels Gaming, the e-sports team of footballer David de Gea and a former streamer for the squad formed by Ibai Llanos and Gerard Piqué.

This year, the ‘Artist Alley’ will host over 60 artists showcasing their artwork to the public and selling items related to audiovisual culture. Additionally, the finest shops from across the Canary Islands will participate in the ‘geek’ event of the year, providing exclusive merchandise. This initiative aims to promote local commerce within the event.

Moreover, there will be a crafts area as well as a board games section, with participation from 11 nationally acclaimed publishers. The event will spotlight an exclusive role-playing game created specifically for TLP Tenerife 2024, developed by El Club Dante, Devir, and Campeones Eternos.

TOURNAMENTS AND COMPETITIONS

TLP Tenerife 2024 will offer more than 15,000 euros in prizes across various competitions and tournaments. Over 30 contests will take place within four different types of tournaments, encompassing a broad range of titles from League of Legends and Tekken 8 to Just Dance and Fortnite. Numerous awards will be given to professional gamers, enthusiasts, communities aspiring to make a mark in the competitive arena, and general video game fans.

The TLP Championship, which includes both e-sports and K-Pop dance categories, will culminate during TLP Tenerife 2024. The finals will be hosted, where the top League of Legends team, the premier Tekken 8 player, and the best EA Sports FC24 competitors will be recognised. Additionally, awards will be presented for the best soloist and the finest K-Pop choreography group.

Cosplay, the art of embodying and bringing to life characters from audiovisual culture, will also be showcased on the main stage through a major competition dedicated to this craft.

A SPACE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF VIDEO GAMES AND WORKSHOPS

TLP Tenerife 2024 will feature a substantial area dedicated to six highly-regarded indie video game developers. Among the games available for exclusive display are the acclaimed ‘Luto’, whose demo has been played live by streamers like Rubius and IlloJuan; and ‘Arico: Tales From the Abyss’, a Canarian 3D Metroidvania.

In addition, several educational workshops related to robotics and programming will be held. The Miranda Brothers will also present a session demonstrating techniques for animating character movements and other intriguing methods.
