In the past 48 hours, the Canary Islands have been under the influence of a varied meteorological mix. The intense thermal spikes originating from the Sahara over the weekend have propelled a mass of warm air, which has arrived in the Canary Islands, bringing along a combination of haze, winds, and humidity. This has been evident since the early hours of Monday, characterised by electrical storms, sultry conditions, and powerful gusts reaching up to 80 kilometres per hour, also a result of these thermal bursts. This situation is set to persist through Tuesday and has led to disruptions in air travel, affecting approximately twenty flights across the Canary Islands.
