The Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (BOP) announced yesterday a modification to the General Development Plan (PGO) for the municipality of Tacoronte, aimed at facilitating the future enlargement of the local health centre, situated at number 5 on the main thoroughfare to the North.
This amendment received unanimous backing from all political groups in the council during the recent plenary session. It will enable the adjacent land to be repurposed for social-health purposes, better aligning with the area’s urban reality, along with the creation of a nearby car park. Consequently, in accordance with the report prepared by municipal technical services, the area designated for social-health facilities will increase from 3,230 square metres to 4,870 square metres as a result of the final agreement.
This slight adjustment to the PGO ensures the standardisation of the land’s intended use, permitting the future expansion of the existing health centre on the same site, which can only grow in the direction of this plot. Following its acquisition, with the financial record already accounted for in the municipal budget at an approximate value of 655,000 euros, the local council will commence the necessary procedures for the temporary use of this area as a parking facility, complete with trees and new planters.
Future Establishment
The concluded plan outlines a substantial future social-health complex in Tacoronte, which will comprise the current Health Centre and its anticipated expansion, along with a senior residence, facilitated by the IASS. New parking provisions and a green environment will be established to enhance the environmental quality of the locale.
