SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The vote of no confidence in the Puerto de la Cruz City Council, on the island of Tenerife, was passed this Friday, during an extraordinary plenary session, enabling the Popular Party (PP) to assume control of the Mayor’s office of the municipality by displacing the PSOE.
With a vote of 11 in favour and 10 against, Leopoldo Afonso, from the Popular Party, has been instated as the new mayor of Puerto de la Cruz after the successful no-confidence motion presented by the PP, Coalición Canaria (CC) and Asamblea Ciudadana Portuense (ACP) against the socialist Marco González.
The plenary session, televised on the City Council’s official channel, took place after the PP, CC, and ACP lodged the no-confidence motion on 1st August.
