82-Year-Old Man in Critical Condition After Pool Incident in Tenerife


An 82-year-old gentleman was admitted to the hospital in serious condition on Friday after experiencing symptoms of drowning in a swimming pool complex in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

Emergency services were alerted to the location following a distress call for medical aid for a man who was rescued from the pool showing signs of drowning and in cardiac arrest.

Upon the arrival of the emergency services, a physician present at the scene initiated basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures on the individual.

Upon the arrival of the medical team from the health centre and the Canary Islands Emergency Service, they continued providing assistance to the victim, conducting advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques. Once he was revived and stabilized, he was transferred to the Canary Islands University Hospital in critical condition.

The Local Police collaborated in the rescue operation by picking up the medical team from the health centre and transporting them to the incident site, along with the National Police.
