The Captain’s Message to Unruly Passengers on TUI Flight to Tenerife
The pilot of a TUI flight to Tenerife from Glasgow had to address disruptive passengers before takeoff this week. He was informed by the boarding staff that some passengers had crossed the line of acceptable behaviour.
A video taken by a passenger on August 9 shows the captain reiterating the basic flight rules. “This is a family holiday flight, and I will not tolerate any disturbances. It’s unfair to other passengers and the crew,” the captain emphasised.
Captain had to give ground rules to passengers who were being rowdy on board a TUI 787 bound for Tenerife.

He mentioned that enjoying a few drinks during the holiday is acceptable but cautioned against excessive behaviour. The captain stressed that while the cabin crew provides drinks and food, they are crucial for the plane’s safety. “They are my colleagues, and you must treat them with respect,” he emphasised.
The captain emphasized that if the crew asks them to do something, it’s because he has instructed them to do so. He reiterated the importance of wearing seat belts and reminded passengers of the no-smoking policy. “Please refrain from smoking on the plane. Smoke detectors are in place,” he warned.
The captain warned that violating rules could result in a fine of €80,000 and that if the situation persists, he will hand over the passengers to the authorities in Tenerife, where they will spend their holidays in a less pleasant environment. “I regret to inform you all, but there are individuals on board whose behaviour is beyond what is deemed acceptable,” he stated.
