Santa Cruz is establishing itself as a top destination for companies in the audiovisual industry. The Development Society, via its Santa Cruz Film Office division, has provided guidance to a total of 62 national and international production firms this year. These companies have selected the capital for various projects including photo shoots, advertising, TV series, feature films, and documentaries.
Among the productions that received guidance from Santa Cruz Film Office in 2024, noteworthy mentions include the series The Head 3, The Gold 2, What are you waiting for?, the film Reasonable Doubt, a documentary about the life of Tenerife boxer Miguel Velázquez, as well as numerous commercials and photo shoots for well-known brands such as Armani, Mango, C&A, Merrel, Audi, Kalenjii, Cerruti, Citröen, and Décimas.
Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez highlighted that “an increasing number of producers and companies in the audiovisual sector are choosing our municipality, positioning us on the audiovisual map as a strategic partner and contributing significantly to the local economy.”
The mayor praised the efforts of the technicians at Santa Cruz Film Office, stating that “they work tirelessly to serve as a bridge for those interested in launching projects in our municipality, while further establishing the city as an attractive destination for the audiovisual industry.”
CEO of the Development Company, Carmen Pérez, stated that “during the first seven months of 2024, a total of 62 audiovisual productions have fostered a strong business network in the area. This has led to the hiring of local companies and workforce, benefiting our citizens. Such achievements are made possible through the remarkable role played by Film Office in positioning our city as a filming location and aiding those in need with administrative procedures.”
“Santa Cruz offers the audiovisual industry a pivotal space for shooting diverse scenes, establishing operational bases, accommodating teams, as well as planning and executing the logistics required for audiovisual projects of this nature,” she added.
The councillor disclosed that “between August and November, seven series are slated to be filmed in Santa Cruz. Location scouting is currently underway in the municipality, with the hiring of specialized technical personnel, local profiles, and companies to meet project requirements.”
Pérez emphasised that “the objective is for Santa Cruz Film Office to fulfil the service needs of producers, ensuring a positive impact on the municipality.”
