SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 13th August (EUROPA PRESS) –
Mastodonte finalises the roster of artists at the Peñón Rock indie-rock festival in the Canary Islands, joining well-known acts such as Hombres G, Depedro, Niños Mutantes, and Travis Birds. The festival is scheduled for Friday, 18th October in the afternoon. Over the two days of the festival, including performances on 19th October, attendees can enjoy over 15 hours of live music.
The Palmetum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will be the venue for two days of music, with doors opening at 3:00 p.m. and performances running from 4:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The line-up, now featuring Mastodonte, will follow this schedule: Friday, 18th October will feature DeLoKos, Niños Mutantes, Depedro, Mastodonte, and Sidonie; Saturday, 19th October will showcase Simón Salinas, Baldosa, Vinagres, Travis Bird, and Hombres G.
The duo Mastodonte is highly acclaimed in the national art scene. Actor Asier Etxeandia and musician Enrico Barbaro venture into a style that incorporates various genres and instruments, giving them a distinct and personal touch. They are known for their mix of electronic sounds, bass lines, funk rhythms, electronic pop, symphonic rock, and glam rock. In November 2018, they released their debut studio album: ‘Mastodonte’ with tracks like ‘El blues del niño’ and ‘Su forma de andar’.
Their songs are delivered with a touch of melancholy and exhibit a glamorous yet industrial and exaggerated image. They are recognised for their musical diversity through experimentation, fusion, and the fortuity of convergence. Their most recent album ‘Belleza y Perdón’ is described as a voyage through songs and therapeutic music.
The Peñón Rock 2024 festival embodies an innovative concept featuring the best of rock and indie music in the capital of Tenerife across various disciplines. Apart from the festival days, Mar Abierto Producciones has arranged a series of cultural activities from 3rd to 12th October. Throughout the month, the event’s universe will be unfolded through an immersive experience comprising talks, conferences, and workshops with rock and indie as the focal points.
The festival will include a food area with food trucks and diverse culinary offerings from renowned local brands in Tenerife, activities sponsored by Pepsi, and entertainment throughout the festival’s duration, including a 360º camera and numerous recreational options to relish the two-day event in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Moreover, in this edition, the festival’s production company once again demonstrates its dedication to sustainable materials by reducing plastic usage within the venue, utilising measures such as providing reusable cups. Special designated areas will be allocated for proper waste separation. For further details and ticket purchase, visit www.penonrock.es or www.tickety.es.
