Tenerife Intercity Transport (Titsa)company under the Tenerife Councilis enhancing some of its services to aid the movement of pilgrimsduring the celebration of Candelaria on the 14th and 15th of August.
All services in Candelaria will be provided from Avenida de los Menceyes next to the old station, starting from Wednesday, 14th August at 2:00 pm, until Thursday, 15th August at 5:00 pm. Stops from C/ Bélgica to Plaza de Teror will be closed during this time.
Line 122 will have additional services beyond its usual route between Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Las Caletillas, and Candelaria, with reinforcement based on passenger demand to facilitate mobility during the busy days in the region.
Line 120 (Santa Cruz-Güímar, Candelaria, Puertito de Güímar) will have increased departures starting from 5:10 p.m.
Titsa will also run a special service for line 522, operating the La Laguna-Autopista-Candelaria route starting from 6:00 p.m. on 14th August and running throughout the night and all day on Thursday, 15th August. The final departure from Candelaria to La Laguna will be at 8:30 p.m., following the same route in both directions: La Laguna-Autopista del Norte TF-5-Autovía de enlace TF-2, Autopista del Sur TF-1-Candelaria.
Connections from the capital
Pilgrims looking to start their journey on Carretera General del Sur have several line options throughout Wednesday, 14th August, with regular schedules providing connections at different points: Santa Cruz-Cruce de La Cuesta: lines 014 and 228; Santa Cruz-Cruce de Taco: lines 232, 233, 934, 936, 937 and 238; and Santa Cruz-Hospital Universitario de Canarias: lines 015, 102, 103 and 108.
Services from the Southern Region
For travellers from the south of the island, lines 111 and 711 connect Santa Cruz de Tenerife with Costa Adeje via the TF-1 motorway, making it convenient for round trips.
Parking Facilities
Pilgrims using the bus services to reach Candelaria will benefit from free parking at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna interchanges car parks from 6:00 p.m. on 14th August until 11:00 p.m. on 15th August, upon presenting a ticket from lines 120, 122, and 522. Travellers must validate their ticket at the main cashier’s office in the car park.
Special Service from Izaña
In addition, a special service at standard rates will operate between Izaña, La Crucita, Los Loros, Arafo, and Candelaria on line 529. Schedules for Wednesday night, 14th, and early morning of 15th will be at 22:00, 00:30, and 03:00, departing from Izaña. This line will also have connections between Candelaria, Güímar, and Arafo at 23:15 and 02:30.
