An extensive search operation is underway to locate a person who may have fallen into the sea in the vicinity of Las Galletas, on the Arona coast.
According to sources at 112, they received a call at 4.49 am reporting that an individual had been spotted in the sea and some personal belongings were found abandoned on the beach.
Despite no official missing person report, the emergency coordination centre in the Canary Islands deployed multiple resources.
The search involved two helicopters, one from the Maritime Rescue Group and another from the Government’s Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) in the Canary Islands, a rescue boat, firefighters, local police, and Civil Guard.
This search operation follows a previous one initiated last week in Tenerife, specifically in Los Realejos, where an individual reported witnessing someone falling into the sea near cliff areas.
Air, sea, and land assets were deployed during the search, but unfortunately, the efforts did not yield any results.
