A boat with 97 migrants arrives at La Restinga port in El Hierro
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A vessel containing 97 individuals reached the La Restinga harbour in the El Pinar municipality of El Hierro on Tuesday, as per the Maritime Rescue Service.
The boat made its way into the port at approximately 10.25 am, thereby obviating the requirement for Maritime Rescue Service intervention to aid the 66 men, 23 women, and eight minors aboard.
Upon docking, the migrants received medical attention from the local healthcare team comprising personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and the Red Cross. Two individuals had to be transferred to healthcare facilities for various ailments, as confirmed by the Red Cross.
