SAN SEBASTIAN DE LA GOMERA, 11 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The government of La Gomera has introduced its schedule of exhibitions to promote the location in the upcoming months.
The Island Corporation made the announcement, mentioning that La Gomera is the sole Canary Islands destination participating in the Trosa Galejet tourism event from 8 to 11 August. The goal is to showcase its distinctive features like nature, biodiversity, and cultural authenticity.
Tourism Minister, María Isabel Méndez, highlighted that La Gomera’s involvement in such events is part of the island’s promotional plan, aiming to establish itself as a destination by being present at international events targeting the values of sustainable tourism they advocate for.
This initiative aims to promote the island as an ideal spot for families and individuals looking for a laid-back lifestyle in a coastal setting, particularly with the autumn season approaching. This event attracts cosmopolitan, high-income tourists who are potential visitors to La Gomera.
The Minister reiterated that participation in this event will attract Nordic tourists interested in actively exploring La Gomera, immersing themselves in nature, discovering the island’s cultural heritage, and sampling the diverse cuisine of La Gomera.
This involvement affirms the island’s dedication to promoting the destination in Nordic countries and establishing its reputation as a sustainable tourist destination. Recent initiatives include the launch of an awareness campaign on the responsible use of water in tourist establishments and replacing 50 thousand single-use plastic bags with ecologically friendly paper bags.
