For the first time, the Council of La Laguna has opened the bidding process for the provision of preventive health and security services for cultural, festive, and popular events held in the municipality throughout the year. The budget for these services is 647,927.64 euros, including IGIC, for a two-year period, with the possibility of extending for up to two more years. The deadline for submitting bids is 28th August, as indicated in the Contractor Profile.
Dailos González, the Councillor for Festivities of the La Laguna Council, emphasised that this is the first time these preventive health and security services have been specifically tendered to ensure timely processing and adequate coverage for the extensive calendar of events that have positioned La Laguna as a cultural reference in the Canary Islands.
González added, “With thousands of people attending these events in our municipality, it is crucial to have the necessary resources to guarantee smooth operations without any incidents.”
Three Categories
The contract includes three main categories: ambulance services and healthcare, development and execution of safety plans and reports, and security services for events related to popular festivals and cultural activities in La Laguna, divided into three lots.
The first lot involves ambulance services, with a budget of 321,232 euros. It includes basic and advanced life support, medical posts, and first aid services tailored to event attendees and participants.
The second lot, with a budget of 189,428 euros, focuses on drafting reports, security plans, and self-protection plans for all events based on individual requirements.
Lastly, the third lot, worth 137,266 euros, entails the provision of unarmed security guards with the necessary qualifications to carry out the required tasks for this service.
This tender process follows the previous announcement made in April this year, involving a budget of 1,085,215 euros for the supply of equipment necessary for cultural, festive, and popular events. This includes the installation of stages, scaffolding, chairs, boards, approved fences, and tents.
During that announcement, the Councillor for Festivals also mentioned that contracts for preventive health and security services, as well as for lighting and sound supply, would also be tendered.
