SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 9 Aug (EUROPA PRESS) –
A 24-year-old man has been apprehended by the National Police for the dismantling of a cannabis establishment where he was allegedly involved in the sale of drugs in the Centro-Ifara area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
An inquiry conducted by the Provincial Brigade of Judicial Police in Santa Cruz de Tenerife was initiated following multiple complaints. With the assistance of the public, the authorities managed to identify and take action against this drug-selling location, resulting in the cessation of the cannabis club’s activities that served as a front, as stated in a police press release.
The operation exposed the existence of a cannabis association that, beyond its purported social functions, was engaged in drug trafficking. The detained individual was supposedly overseeing the distribution of narcotics under the guise of legality at the premises.
National Police officers, aided by the Canine Guides unit of the Local Police in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, executed a judicially approved raid on both the establishment and the suspect’s residence during the operation.
The search led to the confiscation of 824 grams of hashish, 750 grams of marijuana, four grams of cocaine, and €1,600 in cash. Various paraphernalia related to the illicit activities was also seized, including a hand press, a mould and pepper spray.
The arrested individual has been presented before the appropriate judicial authority on suspicion of committing a crime against public health, specifically drug trafficking.
The National Police expressed gratitude for the collaboration of the public and stressed the significance of such cooperation in the fight against organised crime. They also recommended that individuals with any information, leads, or suspicions regarding criminal acts can reach out to the police through the website Policía.es by utilising the ‘Contact’ tab. Reports can be submitted completely anonymously or via email at [email protected].
