SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 8th Aug (EUROPA PRESS) –
The director of a company has been arrested and two individuals on the island of Tenerife are being investigated by the Civil Guard under Operation Pumba for suspected misappropriation, disloyal administration, and falsification of documents. The former director is believed to have embezzled 120,000 Euros and materials.
The arrest followed a complaint made by representatives of a well-known Canarian company based in Tenerife to the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard Command in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. They had discovered irregularities involving one of its directors.
A six-month investigation was initiated, during which specialized agents conducted thorough analysis of documents and finances. It was found that the detained individual had allegedly misappropriated materials purchased by the company for its operations, as well as over 120,000 Euros for personal gain.
The collaboration of a third party company was required to receive the stolen funds.
Following the collection of evidence to substantiate the crimes, on 1st August, searches were conducted at two residences and a company premises. The former director was apprehended, and the administrator and manager of the recipient company were also investigated.
The investigation was overseen by the head of the Court of Instruction Number 1 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
