SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 7 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Today, Wednesday, the Councillor for Social Action of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Águeda Fumero, and the head of the Cepsa Foundation in the Canary Islands, Belén Machado, signed the second collaboration agreement between both entities to boost a new edition of the ZERO Energy Poverty Campaign. This initiative aims to raise awareness about good practices in energy efficiency for voluntary entities and users.
The upcoming edition of the ZERO Energy Poverty Campaign is scheduled for the second half of 2024. Besides informative talks, a guide of best practices for energy saving will be distributed during its implementation. New elements for the energy efficiency kit will also be added, such as the domestic electricity consumption meter. This meter will enable a more specific assessment of household consumption and the effectiveness of the measures taken by families. The goal is to promote awareness and sensitivity towards energy saving through audiovisual content.
The initial Zero Energy Poverty Campaign was carried out by the Tenerife Isla Solidaria Programme, a public company of the island, Sinpromi, during June and July. It involved 30 volunteer organisations and 45 user families facing social vulnerability.
Águeda Fumero stated that initiatives like this aim to encourage more efficient and accessible energy management. Specific objectives include supporting the most vulnerable families in Tenerife, promoting sustainability, accessibility, and responsible consumption, as well as providing training and guidance to the project’s target audience.
