SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 6th August (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Fiesta de Los Indianos in Santa Cruz de La Palma has been put forward for the 1st + HISTORIA Readers’ Awards by ‘National Geographic’ magazine, in the ‘Best Cultural Heritage’ category.
These awards, newly established, aim to acknowledge the efforts made in promoting the history, heritage, and culture of this and other festivals associated with tradition across different regions of the world.
Readers can cast their votes for this nomination from 23rd August to 10th October at historia.nationalgeographic.com.es.
The Mayor of Santa Cruz de La Palma, Asier Antona, expressed gratitude to the magazine “for the recognition given to one of the municipality’s main festivals, which also stands as a key representation of its cultural richness.”
“The Fiesta de Los Indianos serves as a emblem of our identity and tradition, and we take pride in sharing it with the global community,” stated the Heritage Councillor, Saray González.
The full list of nominees will be revealed in the September issue of National Geographic’s Historia magazine, with the winners announced in December.
