SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 6th August (EUROPA PRESS) –
A male, whose age has not been disclosed, passed away following a fall into the Madre del Agua ravine, situated in the town of Los Realejos (Tenerife), according to details provided by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The incident happened around 11:40 am, when a notification was received by 1-1-2 stating that an individual had accidentally fallen into a gorge in that specific area. Consequently, Cecoes promptly activated the essential emergency services.
A rescue helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Canary Islands Government, members of the Tenerife Fire Brigade Consortium, and the National Police responded to the scene.
Rescuers from the GES helicopter reached the victim, verifying that he had sustained injuries that were fatal. Following the necessary judicial clearance, they retrieved the deceased’s body and conveyed it via the aircraft to the La Guancha helipad, where it was handed over to the National Police for further legal procedures.
Firefighters were involved in the emergency action carried out in the vicinity, with the Local Police cooperating with other emergency services.
