Tram Management Company Denies Labor Inspectorate Sanctions.

Tenerife’s Metropolitan denies being fined by the Labour Inspectorate for an alleged violation of the company’s Health and Safety Committee’s internal operating regulations. The committee is responsible for investigating traffic incidents and accidents.

A response sent in an audio recording to the media denied the claims made by Comisiones Obreras in a press release, where they stated that the Labour Inspectorate had fined Tenerife’s Metropolitan for repeatedly failing to comply with the committee’s internal regulations.

Metropolitano de Tenerife sources have refuted these claims, stating that the company has not received any sanctions. They mentioned that on July 22, they received a request from the Labour Inspectorate for information regarding accidents, incidents, and occupational diseases within the company, which they have already provided.

CCOO, in their press release, highlighted that the creation of these regulations was part of the agreement that resolved the strike in 2023. However, they accused the company of showing a clear intent to disregard the agreement from the beginning, which they claim has been ongoing.
