Commencing this Monday, 5th of August, the construction of the northern ramp for the pedestrian footbridge at the Padre Anchieta roundabout will begin. This footbridge will connect Avenida de La Trinidad with the extensive pedestrian ring road.
The construction work will take place during the night starting at 9:00 p.m. today and will continue for four consecutive nights until its completion on Friday, 9th of August, at 6:00 a.m.
During these works, La Trinidad Avenue will be closed off from the Padre Anchieta roundabout to Pedro Zerolo Street.
Motorists are advised to follow the instructions given by the staff on-site and the posted signs.
Closure of 5 tram stops
Due to the construction of the footbridge, the Tenerife Tram service has been altered.
Starting at 10:30 p.m. on Monday, 5th of August, and continuing on Tuesday, 6th of August, the tram service will only operate between the Santa Cruz Interchange and Campus Guajara stops.
As a result, the Gracia, Science Museum, Cruz de Piedra, Padre Anchieta, and Trinidad stops will not be in service during these times.
Infrastructure Works near Plaza del Cristo
Additionally, on Monday, 5th of August, the La Laguna City Council will begin improvement works on the sanitation system serving residences and businesses around Plaza del Cristo and the adjacent streets.
Consequently, there will be road closures on the section between the end of Nava y Grimón Street and Quintín Benito Street, with partial closures at the end of Las Peras Road, the junction with Padre Adán Canónigo de la Iglesia Catedral Street, and the beginning of Tabares de Cala Road.
However, access will be permitted to garage owners on the affected streets and to professionals from the municipal market who park in the esplanade at the end of Las Peras Road.
The underground parking facility at Plaza El Cristo will remain accessible without disruption.
The La Laguna City Council urges cooperation from citizens in following the signage, obeying the workers’ directions on-site, assisting with traffic diversions, and facilitating garage access.
