SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 1st August (EUROPA PRESS) –
Six individuals of German, Italian, and Colombian descent have been apprehended by the National Police for their suspected involvement in a crime related to public health, specifically drug trafficking and illegal association, resulting in the dismantling of two cannabis clubs in the southern region of Tenerife.
The incidents trace back to early May when numerous complaints reached the National Police regarding the illicit trade of narcotic substances by these clubs, mainly targeting tourists in the south of the island, as mentioned in an official police statement.
Subsequently, thorough investigations were conducted which substantiated the unlawful nature of the operations conducted by the various clubs. Following judicial approval, a raid and search were carried out at two separate cannabis establishments.
This operation led to the confiscation of a total of 21 kilograms of marijuana buds, 3 kilograms of hashish, 2 kilograms of rosin (a cannabis extract), and a total amount of 6,000 euros in cash.
It was noted that one of the premises searched stood out due to its extensive size, spanning two floors, along with enhanced security measures and a secure room where the paraphernalia intended for drug trafficking and distribution was stored. The other location had a concealed compartment near the counter where the illicit substances were discreetly held.
