Title: Maritime Rescue saves 66 migrants on El Hierro island
Maritime Rescue successfully saved a cayuco carrying 66 individuals – including three women and seven minors. The rescue mission occurred approximately 12.8 kilometres southeast of La Restinga on the island of El Hierro, as reported by the relevant authorities.
The operation was initiated following a distress call indicating the presence of a cayuco near La Restinga. In response, the Tenerife Rescue Coordination Centre dispatched the Adhara lifeboat, which located the vessel and escorted it, along with its occupants, to the port of La Restinga.
Upon reaching the port, the migrants received assistance from the local health and security personnel.
