Traditional Canarian Attire Comes to Schools in Tenerife
The Cabildo has taken on the task of introducing traditional Canarian clothing to Tenerife’s educational institutions. The main goal is to promote the upcoming academic year 2024-2025 by providing a handbook for teachers and students to delve into the attire of the island’s ancient inhabitants. This initiative is deemed to be “as crucial as folklore, dance, or cuisine,” as stated by the Minister of Employment and Education, Efraín Medina. The manual, crafted by top experts, is a compilation of significant ethnographic value. Featured in the book are texts by Juan de la Cruz Rodríguez and Dulce Rodríguez, with detailed and educational illustrations by Aarón Morales Pérez. Juan de la Cruz Rodríguez was notably absent during the book’s presentation due to personal reasons.
