The Renovation of Gran Hotel Taoro in Puerto de la Cruz
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 31 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
My Way Hotels & Resorts, the hotel operator of Tropical Turística Canaria, has assigned the interior architecture project and the furnishing of the Gran Hotel Taoro in Puerto de la Cruz to Dishot Insular studio, a part of the DISHOT Group with over a decade of physical presence in Tenerife and more than twenty years of experience in hotel design, renovation, and furnishing throughout Spain.
According to Juan José Moreno, the CEO of the DISHOT Group, this project is a thrilling one for the entire team. He stated, “We are excited to breathe new life into the most iconic hotel in the Canary Islands, which first opened its doors in 1890. Our aim is to reflect its rich history in our work, allowing the decoration and furniture to narrate its fascinating story to the guests.”
After meticulous planning over four years to conceptualize the different areas of the hotel, now in its final construction phase, and with the contribution of Ana G-Anleo Velayos, the interior designer leading the project, the CEO of DISHOT elaborated that they have successfully secured the contract for not only the interior design of the Gran Hotel Taoro but also for furnishing, furniture, and accessories for all 199 rooms (including standard, junior suites, themed, and presidential suites), reception area, lounges, lobby bar, and various dining spaces within the establishment.
CEO of My Way Hotels & Resorts, Jorge Monje, highlighted that the selection of Dishot Insular was greatly influenced by the successful collaborations in the past. The Canarian studio notably completed the fit-out of the recently inaugurated Sandára Wellness & Spa Abama, designed by Alejandro Escudero, and also led the interior design and custom fit-out of projects like the Abama Kids Camp, the relaxation area of Abama Tennis Academy, as well as the reception area, Sunway pool-bar, and Ámbar gastrobar in the award-winning 5-star hotel Las Terrazas de Abama Suites.
“We also appreciated the convenience of having a single point of contact throughout the intricate rehabilitation process with Dishot. Managing the Gran Hotel Taoro project comprehensively, from design and visualisation to interior architecture overhaul, and finally, the production and installation of all interior elements, was crucial to establish efficient workflow practices,” emphasised Monje.
