Improving Access to Güímar Industrial Estate
The Governing Council of Tenerife Island Council has approved a 2.9 million Euro project to create direct access lanes to the Güímar industrial estate. The project aims to address traffic congestion issues in the area, with an intensity of 2,000 vehicles per hour, by offering direct entry and exit points from the TF-1 South motorway. The construction, set to last 14 months, will involve modifying branches, building direct links, and widening roundabouts to enhance traffic flow and safety.
The works will focus on the Arafo interchanges, creating direct lanes from various points towards the industrial estate, aiming to ease traffic congestion and support industrial activities in the region. This initiative is part of a collaborative agreement between the Cabildo and the town councils of Güímar, Arafo, and Candelaria to improve the industrial estate’s infrastructure within the next year to year and a half.

The approval also included subsidies for the improvement of tuna marketing by local vessels, support for new business ventures, and the Strategic Framework for elderly care in Tenerife 2030. Moreover, educational projects benefiting over 120 schools, cultural investments, and grants for social initiatives were greenlit by the Council, showcasing a diverse range of developments in various sectors.
