The Army has labelled the operation carried out this summer across Tenerife to surveil the mountains and prevent forest fires as “historic.” Through the social network X, formerly known as Twitter, the Defense Staff confirmed on Sunday, 28th July, that it is “An unprecedented deployment on the island to safeguard our forest resources and wildlife.” The statement is accompanied by several photographs showing Lieutenant General Julio Salom Herrera, the head of the Canary Islands Command, alongside the president of the Tenerife Island Council, Rosa Dávila, and other local authorities.
