The National Police force has disbanded a criminal gang engaged in the production and distribution of crack cocaine in Puerto de la Cruz. Five Spanish nationals have been arrested, and authorities have confiscated nearly 200 grams of hashish, varying amounts of marijuana, cocaine, assorted tools for crack production, a double-edged knife, 500 Euros in cash, as well as watches and jewellery suspected to be stolen.
The investigation was launched based on information provided by the public, indicating that the individuals were operating from squatted properties within a 500-metre radius in Puerto de la Cruz, peddling narcotics like cocaine and crack.
The apprehended individuals, facing charges of offences against public health and involvement in a criminal syndicate, had previous convictions related to similar crimes, with one of them being a fugitive sought by judicial authorities.
