The Red Cross in Tenerife has a longstanding presence on the island, offering not only assistance, support, and advisory services but also educational opportunities. In 2018, the organisation introduced two Vocational Training (FP) programmes at its Santa Cruz headquarters. These courses have been incredibly successful, boasting an impressive job placement rate within the Red Cross of up to 95%. The two medium-level training cycles available are Sports Technician, Rescue and First Aid, which lasts for one year in a traditional classroom setting and costs 2,000 euros; and Health Emergency Technician, which has a duration of two years in-person and three years semi-face-to-face, costing 3,500 euros.
