The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in collaboration with the Municipal Institute of Social Care (IMAS), has organised a series of events this week to honour and appreciate the important role of grandparents in society, leading up to the international day dedicated to them on Friday, July 26.
Event Schedule
On Tuesday, July 23, the senior citizens of the town can enjoy a cinema afternoon at Yelmo Cine Meridiano by watching the film There is only one father 4 at 4:30 p.m.
Continuing the activities on Wednesday, the 24th, there will be a hike along the Hija Cambada trail in the beautiful Anaga Rural Park, starting at 8:20 a.m. from the Santa Cruz Interchange (Titsa line 015).
Thursday the 25th offers a relaxing day at the pool in the César Manrique Maritime Park in the city, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Friday the 26th, in celebration of the International Grandparents’ Day, Las Teresitas beach will host sports and personal development activities, including gymnastics and aquagym classes, from 9:30 to 12:00.
In addition, the Santa Cruz Vital programme ensures that elderly residents have a variety of activities scheduled throughout the year, along with specific support and care programmes like the Home Help Service.
