The Technical malfunction in Microsoft systems caused by an update issue from the cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike has resulted in disruptions at the Canary Islands airports, impacting operational efficiency. This incident has had widespread repercussions on air travel globally, banking services, and media communication.

As per information available on Aena’s official website, a total of 16 flights have been delayed at Tenerife North Airport due to the system failure.

Sources within the public organisation have stated to Europa Press that airport operations on the island are functioning, albeit at a slower pace, primarily due to the adverse effects on the billing systems.
