The judge of Administrative Litigation Court number 1 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Francisco Eugenio Tarajano, has announced that various appointments have been called off in this division due to a productivity surge of “400%”.
The judge has issued a decree to the attorneys with ongoing cases in this legal branch, informing them about the cancellation of multiple court dates and the upcoming rescheduling of new dates at the earliest convenience.
The judge has been prompted to make this announcement upon observing the current situation of the court, “as well as the staggering 400% increase in productivity, equivalent to the workload of four judges, during the first half of the year.”
Eugenio Tarajano further mentions that in the months leading up to the end of the previous year, the number of cases rose by 200%, and the appeals lodged have also grown “significantly” with each passing year.
Consequently, the court has informed the attorneys that “meeting the appointment schedule with a minimal level of efficiency, quality, and protection of occupational health is unfeasible.”
The decree, available to EFE, then outlines a “restructuring” of the oral hearing dates, to be communicated in a timely manner when possible.
