The Mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez (PSOE), issued a decree on Wednesday dismissing Vox councillor Manuel Alejandro Rodríguez as the president of the Transparency, Public Information, and Good Governance Commission, according to council sources cited by Europa Press. It has been confirmed that PP councillor Eva Cólogan will take over the position.
Rodríguez was appointed as the commission’s president earlier this year as part of an agreement reached within the Mixed Group to rotate councillors. He has now been removed following a motion discussed during this month’s plenary session, initiated by Vox. The motion called for action on illegal registrations and unauthorized immigration by the Municipal Police and other social actors.
