CANARY ISLANDS WEATHER | What’s the weather forecast for Thursday in the Canary Islands?

The Spanish State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts for this Thursday clear skies with some intervals of low clouds, light high altitude calima in the eastern islands, and a rise in maximum temperatures reaching 30 and 32 degrees in Tenerife and 34 degrees in the midlands of the south and west of Gran Canaria.

There will be trade winds with strong intervals in low areas of the southeast and northwest in the afternoon, predominance of sea breezes on the southwest coasts of the mountainous islands, and light variable direction winds in the summits, except in the high central peaks of Tenerife where it will be moderate to strong from the southwest.

Regarding the sea conditions, it forecasts north to northeast winds of force 4 or 5, locally 6, rough sea or heavy swell, and variable force 1 to 3 with breezes and smooth sea on the south, west and southwest coasts of the islands. There will be a northern swell with waves of 1 to 2 meters.

The island forecast is as follows:

GRAN CANARIA

Clear with some intervals of low clouds in the north in the early morning. Light high altitude calima from noon. Maximum temperatures slightly to moderately rising, minimums with few changes. Temperatures will reach 30 to 32 °C in the midlands of the south and west, with a possibility of locally reaching or slightly exceeding 34 °C. Trade winds with strong intervals in low areas of the southeast and northwest. Sea breezes predominating on southwest coasts. In the summits, light variable direction winds.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 21 25

Clear with some intervals of low clouds in the north and west in the early morning. Light high altitude calima by the end of the day. Maximum temperatures slightly to moderately rising, minimums with few changes. The south-facing slopes are likely to reach 30 to 32 °C. Trade winds occasionally strong in inland areas of the southern half in the afternoon.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Arrecife 20 30

Clear with some intervals of low clouds in the north and west in the early morning. Light high altitude calima from noon. Maximum temperatures slightly to moderately rising, minimums with few changes. The south-facing slopes are likely to reach 30 to 32 °C. Trade winds occasionally strong on the southern slope of Jandía in the afternoon.

Predominance of clear skies, except for cloudy intervals in low areas of the north during the early morning, which will be denser in the northeast. Maximum temperatures slightly to moderately rising, minimums with few changes. 30 to 32 °C cannot be ruled out in the midlands of the south and west. Moderate trade winds, sea breezes prevailing on southwest coasts; light variable direction winds in high areas increasing to moderate to strong from the southwest in central summits.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife 21 31

Partly cloudy or clear with some intervals of low clouds in the north during the early morning. Maximum temperatures slightly rising, minimums with few changes. Moderate trade winds, occasionally strong in low areas of the east and northwest in the afternoon. Sea breezes prevailing on southwest coasts; in the summits, light variable direction winds.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

San Sebastián de la Gomera 22 29

Partly cloudy or clear with some intervals of low clouds in the northeast during the first half of the day. Temperatures with few changes. Trade winds with strong intervals in low areas of the southeast and northwest. Sea breezes prevailing on west coasts; in the summits, light variable direction winds.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Santa Cruz de la Palma 21 25

Clear with some intervals of low clouds in the north during the early morning. Temperatures with few changes. Trade winds, occasionally strong in low areas of the southeast and extreme northwest in the afternoon. Sea breezes prevailing on southwest coasts; in the summits, light variable direction winds.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):
