The Salvamar Alpheratz from Maritime Rescue has escorted a cayuco with about 120 individuals to the port of Los Cristianos, in the south of Tenerife, which was spotted this dawn near the island’s coast by the fishing vessel ‘Consuelo and Nené’.
The sighting of this boat with migrants of sub-Saharan origin by this fishing vessel occurred at 4:46 am, as reported to EFE by a spokesperson from Maritime Rescue.
Specifically, the cayuco was detected near the area known as Callao Salvaje, on the southwest coast of Tenerife.
The Salvamar Alpheratz positioned itself next to it at 05:54 am and escorted it to Los Cristianos, where it began to disembark its occupants at 7:17 am.

Pending the completion of triage tasks by health personnel and the Red Cross, which are carried out as a protocol when a boat with migrants arrives on the coast of the Canary Islands, sources from the 112 have informed EFE that, initially, the individuals on this expedition appear to be in good health.
