There is reality and there are limitless speculations. Civil guards from the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (Greim) found the body of the young British man Jay Slater on Monday morning, who disappeared in Tenerife in the middle of last month. The agents identified the 19-year-old male thanks to the clothing he was wearing, some belongings, and the location where he was found, in a difficult-to-access area in Masca, to the west of the island, near the place where he last communicated with his friend, Lucy Law. Official identification will take place when the DNA results from the body are obtained.

The investigators from the Organic Unit of Judicial Police (UOPJ) have as their main hypothesis of the death that he suffered an accident or a fall. These professionals were convinced of this a few days after losing track of the young man. However, the autopsy carried out at the Legal Medicine Institute will reveal how Slater actually died.

The death occurred after the British man travelled to Tenerife to enjoy electronic music at the New Rave Generation (NRG) party in various locations on the island. After many hours of partying, Slater reportedly contacted two compatriots, with whom he went to a holiday home in the Teno area.
And on the morning of June 17, he left this residence and started walking. The last thing he told his friend was that he was very thirsty and that he had very little battery left on his mobile phone. And that he hoped to walk to the most touristic area of the island. That is the reality known at this time.
